Calling All History Buffs: Check Out the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum

The Boston Tea Party was a turning point in the relationship between Great Britain and its then-colonies in North America. It was a major act of defiance, a peaceful protest against recently imposed tariffs. It set the stage for the Revolutionary War and the colonies’ eventual independence. Learn all about the historic event at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.

Each hour-long guided tour takes guests back to the day that the Tea Party unfolded as you actually climb aboard the restored 18th-century ships. Costumed actors recreate the major players of the day at an interactive town meeting, after which guests actually get to dump some tea and tour a museum filled with artifacts. Head to Abigail’s Tea Room after your tour to try one of the five teas that were tossed overboard that fateful day in 1773.
