Entertainers Create Plotlines Off-the-Cuff at Improv Asylum

What started out as a group of quick-witted friends performing improv in the back room of a Hard Rock Cafe in the late ’90s has flourished into Improv Asylum. Now more than 20 years since those earliest shows, Improv Asylum remains under the leadership of two of the original members of the original improv troupe. They’ve branched out a bit from one Monday night show, however. Their dedicated improv theater offers shows by different casts every night of the week, similar to the nation’s top-tier improv clubs like Second City.

Grab a seat and a drink and enjoy a show on the main stage. The shows are constantly changing since the improv students devise the subjects and partial scripts themselves on a regular basis. Come armed with some wacky suggestions when you snag tickets to a show because, true to improv tradition, the cast will almost certainly kick off the evening by asking for some help from the audience to shape the next scene.
